About The Founder
Urban Helix was founded by Katie Steinberg, an LA transplant turned Angeleno at heart.
She built her career at AECOM, a Fortune 500 global infrastructure firm, working across construction management, project management, strategy, growth, operations, and ventures. Her experience spans the full project lifecycle from entitlements through delivery, with a focus on large scale mixed use projects.
Notable projects include the Pendry Hotel and Residences in West Hollywood, The Grand by Gehry in Downtown Los Angeles, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Katie is an adjunct professor of real estate development in the Master of Urban and Regional Development program at UCLA and is an emeritus board member of the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group (REAG). She holds an MBA and Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from UCLA, specializing in real estate finance and regional economic development. She is also a PMP, LEED AP, WELL AP, and licensed California real estate broker.
